Introduction: Celebrex generic (celecoxib) is a NSAID that relieves pain and inflammation associated with acute pain syndrome, painful menstruation and arthritis. Unlike NSIAD's celecoxib does not effect stomach mucous.

Generic Celebrex

 Pharmacology: Generic Celebrex is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, non-narcotic pain killer. Celebrex is a specific inhibitor of cyclooxygenase type-2 (COX-2).
COX-2 is induced in response to inflammatory stimuli. This leads to the synthesis and accumulation of inflammatory prostanoids, particularly prostaglandin E2, which causes inflammation, swelling and pain. By inhibiting COX-2, celebrex acts as an anti-inflammatory drugs that relieves inflammatory processes and pain


  • Mild or moderate pain
  • Arthritis symptoms treatment (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis . Reactive synovitis
  • Treatment of painful menstrual periods.

Celecoxib is contraindicated in:

  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the medicament or allergy to sulfonamides
  • Aspirin asthma in the history
  • III trimester of pregnancy
  • Lactation (breastfeeding)
  • Severe cardiovascular diseases
  • Bleeding of unknown origin

 The medication should be used with caution in:

  • Liver and kidney problems
  • Heart failure
  • Gastric and duodenal ulcers
  • Age under 18 years
  • Elderly age
  • High blood pressure

 Adverse effect: The medicament Generic Celebrex may cause the following side-effects:

  • ACE inhibitors
  • Aspirin
  • Beta-blockers
  • Bile acid sequestrants
  • Corticosteroids
  • Diuretics
  • Cardiac glycosides
  • Ummunosupressors (cyclosporine)
  • Antifungals
  • Lithium medications
  • Other NSAID's
  • Thrombolytics
  • Cancer medications
  • Uricosuric drugs (probenicid)
  • SSRI and SNRI medications (antidepressants)
  • Herbal supplements
